Ahoy Ark fans! Get ready for a wild ride as we dive into everything we know about the highly anticipated Ark Survival Evolved UE5 remastered. It was teased on January 10th, but then the co-founder of Studio Wildcard, Jeremy Stieglitz, cleared the air on Twitter on January 22nd by saying that the UE5 remaster is a completely free upgrade of Ark Survival Evolved in Unreal Engine 5, not just a cinematic.
To clarify: the UE5 tease a couple weeks back is referring to in-the-works complete free upgrade/remaster of ARK Survival Evolved in UnrealEngine5. Not a cinematic. We havent officially announced the ARK UE5 upgrade yet ’cause there’s other major things we wanna show then as well https://t.co/heP331SfS9

The excitement doesn’t stop there! Jeremy suggests that when the UE5 remaster is officially announced and shown off, it will be accompanied by some other major things. Could this mean the long-awaited Ark animated series or Ark2? Or, could it mean new content for Ark One? Given the studio’s history of expanding the game’s content, there’s a good chance we’ll see more from Ark One. In fact, a recent poll on Twitter about the possibility of a new season pass for Ark One received 76.8% approval from players.
What about the beloved mods created by the dedicated Ark community? Don’t worry, the UE5 remaster will not leave them behind. According to the Studio Wildcard mod Community Manager, Zenro (aka Josh Heinz), much of the non-graphics technical work has already been done for the Ark switch port. However, the UE5 upgrade will require most mods to be re-cooked against the new version to work. The specifics are still being considered and discussed internally, but support for older mods is on the table. While this may mean some mods will be lost, the UE5 remaster has the potential to revitalize Ark and bring in tens of thousands of new players to the game. Get ready, Ark fans!
